In Loving Memory of Ty Laporte
Meet Ty Laporte – a remarkable athlete and a true competitor. A native of Irmo, South Carolina, Ty's athletic journey was nothing short of exceptional. She was a dominant force in Track and Field, Volleyball, and Basketball at Dutch Fork High School, where she earned a reputation as one of the most decorated athletes in the region.
Throughout her high school career, Ty's talent shone brightly. She won three state titles in Track and Field and earned All-Region and All-State honors in each of her four years. In volleyball, Ty's excellence was equally apparent as she was named the 4A Volleyball Player of the Year during her senior season.
Though she only played two years of club volleyball for Magnum Volleyball Club, Ty’s skill and dedication were undeniable, earning her a full athletic scholarship to the University of Mississippi. At Ole Miss, Ty continued to excel, competing in both Volleyball and Track and Field, where she amassed numerous accolades and continued to inspire those around her.
Ty’s legacy as a fierce competitor, a dedicated athlete, and a beloved teammate will always be remembered. Her impact on the sports community and the lives she touched is immeasurable, and she will forever be missed.
